Colorado State will celebrate Sustainability Week, including an Earth Day Celebration and Open Your Mind Fair the week of April 21-24.

CSU celebrates Sustainability Week from April 21-24. Visit the Lory Student Center Plaza on Tuesday, April 22 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. for the Earth Day Celebration and Open Your Mind Fair. Enjoy live entertainment, booths, and activities on renewable energy, gardening, waste reduction, and even a recycled fashion show! This event is free and open to the community.

An Inconvenient Truth Slide Presentation
Cami Hay is an RN and health educator/consultant from Fort Collins who has been trained by Al Gore to present slides from "An Inconvenient Truth," the movie. Cami, an active environmentalist, created and produced a puppet show called "Earth Day is Every Day," when her daughters were young. This play was accepted as part of the Denver Civic Theater's School Tour Program. Currently, Cami works as the District Manager for the Rocky Mountain District of the Climate Project.
T-shirts will be given out to first 100 participants.
Tuesday, April 22
Earth Day Celebration and Open Your Mind Fair
This year the Live Green Team is co-sponsoring with the Counseling Center to put on an Earth Day and an Open Your Mind Fair celebration. The celebration will focus on all aspects of sustainability both in your mind and in your environment, and will feature booths, live entertainment, and games. Mojumbus will perform on the main stage throughout the event with additional entertainment provided by drummers, hip hop performers, swing dancers, and a recycled fashion show. Booths will feature information and activities on renewable energy, gardening, waste reduction, and more. The event embraces the whole person living a sustainable life, through the mind and the environment. T-shirts give-a-ways.
Soil and Crop Science Lectures with William Bryant Logan
William Bryant Logan author of Dirt: The Ecstatic Skin of the Earth and Oak: Frame of Civilization, is an award-winning nature writer. He presents and teaches classes and workshops on the care of trees and the natural history of soils, including a recent lecture to the Soil Science Society of America. He also taught nonfiction writing at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Catherine Greener, Sustainability Consulting for Act Now Production
Catherine Greener, the Vice President for Sustainability Consulting for Act Now Productions, is the guest speaker on the night of Earth Day. Ms. Greener will discuss the motivation behind helping Wal-Mart go "green" through what Act Now is calling the Personal Sustainability Project. Find out how the mission will be accomplished by educating Wal-Mart's 1.3 million U.S. employees about sustainability.
Catherine Greener will also share her 20 plus years experience in sustainable operations to explain how the green collared workforce is evolutionizing and how students can get themselves in position to work for the changing business market.

Wednesday, April 23
Annual Stomp, Romp and Wag with a green theme
On Wednesday, April 23rd, the Hartshorn Health Service will be hosting the 6th annual Stomp, Romp and Wag event. This event educates students about the effects secondhand smoke has on pets. This year, the event will be educating and promoting environment-friendly practices – the "green" effect – for household pet owners and their pets.
Thrillhead Creations and Climate Change in the Rockies
Two CSU graduates and founders of Thrillhead Creations will present Climate Change in the Rockies. Thrillhead Creations is a grassroots production company committed to creating films, promotional videos, and broadcast programming in a fresh and innovative manner that supports a sustainable network of businesses and promotes environmental stewardship.
