Biofuels Symposium: Challenges and Opportunities 2007

In 2007, Colorado State hosted a research symposium about the emerging biofuels market and its importance as a renewable source to help meet energy needs. More than 15 CSU faculty discussed technical challenges and opportunities concerning biomass production, use and environmental and economic sustainability.

Changing Climates Initiative

The Changing Climates Initiative is a campuswide project launched in 2007 and supported by faculty and researchers from every CSU college, whose interests and research unite around climate change. This effort helps faculty infuse information and research on climate content into their courses in all majors and disciplines. It also provides seminars to train faculty and staff on climate change topics.

Global Social & Sustainable Enterprise Speaker Program

This College of Business lecture series has hosted invited speakers including Gifford Pinchot III (co-founder and president of the Bainbridge Graduate Institute); Hernando De Soto (currently President of the Lima-based Instituto Libertad y Democracia); author and Net Impact founder Mark Albion; and Amy Smith (Director of the D-Lab at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and MacArthur "Genius Grant" award winner).

Global Water Colloquium: From Conflict to Sustainability

In March 2008, CSU’s Vice President for Research will host this this colloquium designed to benefit investigators with research activities that could be applied to water resources at a local, regional, national, and international level, as well as researchers with established water resources research programs. Individuals, private consultants, public administrators, managers, policy makers, and those interested in learning more about international research activities in water resources will also benefit from the research colloquium.
